What were the first foods you gave to your child and at what age did you start solids? My son is five and a half months old and we have been eating solids for around three weeks now, close to a month. Even though the reccommended age is now 6 months, the poor kid was hungry so I fed him... Oops! The first food I gave him was pumpkin and he loves it, then pear which he loves too, then carrot which hes tolerant of but not overly keen on, suppose its not that great after eating something sweet lol, next i'm going to try apples, then sweet potato... Anyone have any advice, or good recipes (excluding dairy because he is allergic!)

Start with fruits and then veggies, try a new food for a few days before introducing a new one so you can tell if they can tolorate the new food and not allergic to them

Seperate new foods being introduced by at least a week. This way you will have time to tell which foods he really likes, and which, if any, he can't tolerate well. It's easier to isolate the specific food this way.
