I hate when you shoot a roll of film, and then go through the development process and only a few of the shots come out. Even using th elight meter and using the right lighting and everything, the shots still come out either bad, or not at all. It's not that i'm a bad photographer, it's sometimes when you work so hard and don't get the rewards you want [a perfect...well near perfect] roll, you don't get it. But whatever, suck it up I guess. Just go spend five more bucks and shoot another roll. Not to mention that the developmental process takes 28 minutse and it seems to go by for ever. I know I can take it to CVS or Wallgreens and have the develop my negatives, but its sort of cheating and makes you feel like you only did have the process. But if it saves me from wasting my time when stuff doesn't come out I guess it's a good option. I just wish there was a quicker way to develop without using that much time, and getting chemicals all over me. But for now, i'm going back and going to shoot another roll and develop it again tomorrow. A roll [of film] a day, keeps bordem away. -charles

I must ask, why don't you buy a digital camera ? These days they are getting cheaper and come with better quality. You could have the pictures instantly and not worry about developing the film anymore. Best wishes !

I have a digital camera and the truly are poushing the actual ART of photography further and further from each generation. Yes either way it's art. But taking the time, using the knowledge of what shutter speed, what aperature to use. How to roll and develop film shows far more dedication than using a digital camera. Not to mention a digital camera, you see your images right away; yes its good. But then you loose a sense of confidence that the dedication and time you put forth for taking that perfect picture with film amking sure its right so it comes out good. Anyone can point and shoot a digital camera, only an artist can capture that moment with film. But yes, I do enjoy digital to, for the ability to photoshop and what not. But I do that with film to. That's what I got a scanner for. But hey, just my opinion of which is more of an art form. To each is own.

That is one of the advantages of digital cameras. You actually get to preview the picture before hand and don't have to go through the development process and the prospect of having an entire roll of film developed only to get a couple of decent shots. Although I am not a serious photographer, I do pursue an art form seriously, so I completely understand not wanting to take the easy way out because it doesn't require "real" skill and knowledge, thus eliminating that sense of accomplishment when you finally get it right. It's all part of the learning process, I guess... With that in mind, I say keep practicing and experimenting. You can only get better! Good luck with your photography!

This is why I love my digital slr. I can shoot and shoot and if only 10 of 100 come out, that's ok. I use an Olympus e-500 and love it.
