Is war inevitable?

Can war be avoided or is there always going to be war no matter what we try and do to stop it?
In my opinion war is inevitable. We can sit here and try and avoid it for a very long time but when populations grow to big and resources run low, people's survival insticts are going to kick in and people are going to fight for resources so they can survive.
