I just bought or Sprint replaced my Palm Treo with the new Palm Centro.I love this phone! Very cute and functional. Well I finally got time to upload the software so I could Sync my phone to my desktop. I was excited because no more lost numbers. Well I put the cd in and start installing. I kept getting an internal error. OK I am getting frustrated with this so I call the 800 number to find out what I am doing wrong. It is their software they should know right? Laughing, yeah they couldn't tell me. So I got to their website and viola there is the answer to my problem. What gets me is that shouldn't their techs have their forums up to help customers. The operator/tech person was asking me what operating system I had on my cell phone! Ok i didn't think cell phones had operating systems. I was so confused with what she was saying because it made no sense to me.Have you ever entered into a support tech that didn't seem to know what they were talking about? I mean where do they find these people? I would think they want their employees to know everything possible or at least tell them where to find the answers to the customers questions.

You're right... Techs should know about the phones... They are after all, "Techs"... I used to work at cell. phone industry myself for a short period of times... In that short time frame, I knew more about phones then some of these "1-800" number techs... Usually when I call them for my current phone's problem, as soon as I get a tech on the phone I go through the list of the things I've done & none of it worked... They sound so dumb founded that I knew all the things I knew, which isn't really much... "My phone is stuck in one screen & it won't make a phone call... First thing I've done was power cycle the phone & when it didn't work, I have done soft reset & didn't work, hard reset & didn't work so I did master reset & reloaded all the software back onto my phone & still acting up... Looks like a hardware issue that keeps corrupting my operating software... What do you suggest?" Then I get a long pause on the other end of the phone then the "Tech" says, "have you tried taking the battery out & putting it back in?" So I tell him, "Yeah, if you were listening, that's called hard reset & yes, I've tried it... You know what the master reset means? I've tried that too..." Tech goes, "ummm... hold on..." Make a long story short, they ended up giving me a new phone... Some of these so called "techs" have no business in being a "techs" at all... That's what they're getting paid for, they should know little more than what they do...

I had the same problem when I bought my tv. I bought it because it had picture and picture. I went through the book, called the number, and even went back to the store to find out why I couldn't get it to work. Turns out the salesmen either didn't know what he was talking about or lied to sell it, because the PIP only works with a dvd or vcr, you can't watch 2 television programs at the same time. And that was the main reason I bought the tv.

I haven't had that happen, but they should know what they are talking about. I think the company would train them to know the answers.
