I discovered this bread in Kopi Roti in the NAIA Terminal (Manila Airport) Waiting Area and I loved it! SInce then, I would buy one when I see a coffee shop in malls. I even tried other coffee shops that has this bread. Now, Pan de MAnila has their own Coffee bun but for me, nothing beats the original. Have you tried this one?

Oh yes! It blends well with the Kopi Roti's brewed coffee. I've tried the coffee bun of a Singaporean cafe (forgot the name) located in Marina BAy area, 2nd floor of SM MOA and it was also delicious. It tastes better than the one from Pan de Manila.

Hello chrysz, I have not tried that but I am looking forward to try it, I love all kinds of bread as long as it is not sweet!

Yup, its not that not but its really buttery. I don't like the one from Pan de Manila, it turns hard at once even when reheated unlike the one from Kopi Roti.

I've never even heard of a coffee bun let alone tried one. Why is it called a coffee bun? Does it taste like coffee? Is there coffee added? Is it called that because it has caffeine and does the same as strong coffee in keeping you awake!! Please tell us a bit more about this coffee bun.

It has some coffee with it. I think it was glazed on top and it has a special butter stuffed in it. It doesn't taste like coffee that much but I love the taste - not too sweet, fluffy yet has a crunchy crust with buttery core.

It is around 80 bucks only and comes with a cup of coffee already. Kopi roti's coffee bun are still the best for me and they are available in major shopping malls. I think there's another one shop in SM MOA along Marina Bay (a Singaporean coffee shop) that offers coffee bun too and its also delicious.

I will always love the classic pandesal though there are a lot of innovations now like pandesal stuffed with common fillings like chicken, tuna, ham, bacon, etc but what makes it still Filipino is that most meat fillings are cooked in Filipino way.
