Do your kids understand the concept of money?

This morning I was talking to my little kid about making money on MyLot. At first she didn't seem to understand. Then I told her that Mommy makes money everytime she posts on MyLot and can buy her lipgloss. She totally understood that. I guess concrete examples work better with little kids. Anyway, do your kids understand the concept of money and how it's made? Or, do they think stuff and toys just magically grow on trees? At what age do most kids start understanding money concepts and that it takes work to earn money to buy stuff?

My kids do understand, but yet they seem to think that we should be able to get anything they want. My son has started collecting cans so that he can have money to do things and get what he wants.

I think kids understand the concept of what money can buy but not necessarily the value of it or where it comes from, I feel they pick up the actual value of having money when they have to earn it themselves.
