we can do a lot of things on the internet. we can surf, do researches, post banners, do PTCs, chat, blog, have friendsters, multiply, download music, create videos, watch movies, and so on and many much more... BUT of all these, what is it that we consider the best thing that the internet offers us? what do you think?

I've been on-line for 12 yrs. am 60 y/o and this whole internet thing still amazes me up to this day. I'm what you call a road warrior. I travel all over the USA for my job. I also moved to Monterrey Mexico 6 yrs. ago ( I'm from Detroit MI) Doing all my banking and paying all my bills on-line is the greatest, I haven't been in a bank in years! Good luck tdemex!

Just a few days ago I was telling my mom that someday I want to just go traveling around the USA in a camper and that I could even keep working while I did it. My business is entirely Internet based, I do most of my banking online, I can shift money earned online into a credit card account for buying food and gas and whatever else I would need to buy, my friends are all online and live in states all over the USA so I would not even loose touch with them, and I can get online anywhere I can find a WiFi hotspot.

The most beneficial aspect of the internet is simply communication. It connects worldwide.

Potential. The best thing that the Internet offers us is potential. The potential to learn anything we desire to learn, to discover friendships with people we would never have had a chance to meet without such a wonderful resource, and the challenge to do our best to make the online world a wonderful and welcoming place for everyone. My father was one of the programmers in the Army Signal Corps that worked on the programs that were the foundation of the Internet, at that time they had no real understanding of the tool they were helping to craft and how it would change the world. Today my father sits and watches some of the things that are being done with computers now and can not help but wonder what his great grandchildren will be doing with computers when they are grown. There is a potential in computers that I believe has yet to be tapped into, a potential that we can no more conceive of today than my father and others could conceive of when all of this first started. I look at computers such as my small Vaio and phones like the iPhone and remember when I was a child in the 70's. I walked into a building with my dad one day and the entire wall stretching out beside us was a huge computer that could do less than many wrist watches today can do. The Internet has been evolving before our very eyes. Anyone that has been a part of it for any length of time can see how it is evolving and building into something that the early users could barely dream of. So, what is it that I think is the best thing that the Internet offers us? The potential to discover what it can be.
