My computer is typing all by itself! It started when I was emailing in my Incredimail program, so I closed incredimail and came to mylot and tried typing in the search box the word "Incredimail" to see if there were any discussions going on about that, and it started typing xxxxxxxx all my itelf in the searchbox!++++++++++++++ That's what it was doing when I would try typing an email address in the send line in my incredimail program. +++++ Look....It just did it again. Can you see the signs it's typing. They are not xxxx's like I thought. They are + signs. and I definataly am not hitting that button. It actually took me a minute to find it on my keyboard just now when I WANTED to type it! Help???

First, download adaware and spybot (both free) and disconnect from the internet. Run both of them and remove whatever they catch. If the problem continues when you're offline, it's most likely malware (or a glitchy keyboard/driver). If it stops, you might be hacked. Install a firewall (zone alarm is great and free) and run those scans.

Oh my goodness. I am really confused now. I thought I downloaded Adaware, like you said. That was the first thing I downloaded. Then I went and wrote you the message saying when I was looking for Spybot, it directed me to something called NoAdware which was supposed to be better than Spybot, but I didn't get that, I eventually found Spybot. I ran the first program and it found some things, then it said to get rid of them I had to download an update, but I wasn't connected to the internet, and my dsl box wouldn't come on right until I restarted the computer! So I lost all the search results! When I came back on, I set up Spybot and ran that but it found nothing. When I went to run the first thing again, I noticed it was called NoAdware! Somehow I downloaded that instead of Adaware. And it did find things that Spybot didn't. I think the two things are interfering with each other, so I'll probaby get rid of Spybot. Should I still look for Adaware? Or is it the same thing as NoAdware? Gosh, I'm confused. I swear I searched for Adaware, and it took me to a site where I downloaded this NoAdware instead by accident.

Moving right along....Lol...Turns out after the results with NoAdware, it wasn't an 'update' you have to get online for, it's to 'register'. Once you get there, you have to pay $37 for it. I deleted that program for now and I'm going back to look for Adaware now.

Sounds like you are being hacked or have some sort of spy-ware on your system. If you have a anti-spy-ware program installed make sure it is updated and then I would disconnect the modem or DSL Internet connection to the computer and run that program. Adaware is a great one because it is very thorough and a no-brainer. Whatever it finds you can safely delete. The 2007 version has been out for a while and works well for getting rid of spy-ware. Go to http://www.lavasoft.com and follow the links to the Free version. Another thing to look at is under the Control Panel in Add or Remove Programs, remove anything that is suspicious and you know that you did not download or install. However, be careful here, if there is any doubt just leave it and hopefully Ada-Ware will find it. Good Luck.

I went to the site you listed. It looks like the Adaware is BETA. Is it? I was told not to put ANYTHING Beta on my computer ever again after it caused problems last time I did. So far I only have Spybot and it didn't find anything. I need to go to bed soon. I'll check if you all write back tomorrow and then I'll see what to do next. Thanks!

If it isn't spyware youre keyboard may just be stuck. something may have been spilled on it or something press it and see if it feels sticky or stuck. if that is the problem you may need to pull it out and clean it.

Thanks for your comment. I'm in the process of downloading the programs the first person told me about. I will see what happens and nothing changes I will check the keyboard, but nothing seems to be sticky, although my son EATS here every day and I'm always turning the keyboard upside down and pouring crumbs out of it! Lol.
