Have you ever woken up to find your email box filled with SPAM?

The other week I found (what I thought was) a really great marketing online newsletter. I liked it so much that I had it sent to my own private email address (not the other address that I use when signing up for freebies and such.) And, within a week my entire email box was crammed with emails from this person. They emailed everytime a thought occured. Sometimes six or eight times daily. And, there were no useful marketing tips, just blatant advertisements, endorsements and SPAM. I had to unsubscribe just to reclaim my email box. It was totally ridiculous. Now, I've got about a week's worth of work dejunking the email box, so I can find the really useful stuff. Has that ever happened to you? Have you ever subscribed to a useful newletter online and then ended up with tons of junk mail and spam, instead?

I try not to subscribe to anything with my personal email address. I only use it to keep in contact with real people. But even most of the people I keep in contact with know that I only check it about once a week, and they are better off sending the emails to both my personal email address and the one that I use for freebies, subscriptions, etc.

I have since switched to a Yahoo account for my freebies and email subscriptions. Thanks for the tips.

In one of my mail boxes i get nothing but spam email and sometimes if I don't check it on a regular it goes up to the thousands in count of mail that has come in. When it does that all i do is just delete them. I use to check them out and see what they where but now I just delete them.

That kind of thing happens to me all of the time. I think SPAM stands for $hit Posing As Mail. haha That's what my husband things too. My SPAM filter does pretty good, and I usually have alternat addresses for subscriptions. I don't subscribe to much on line anymore, because of SPAM.

Nice! And the term fits. As for the meat spam that is another story. Actually it used to stand for "Specially prepared American meat." Don't ask me. I didn't give it that name. That's what the English called it when they were having rations during World War 2. It was the pseudo meat gift from across the water. Like most SPAM, both kinds stink! The email and meat variety.

My inbox is usually filled with spam and I hate it. I have to unsubscribe from things all the time and it's really annoying. I have to make sure that I report all those scams, mark emails as unsafe when they are unsafe and set my spamfilter to high so hopefully a lot of those emails will be diverted. I'm wondering about deleting my one email and then signing up for it again to see if that will help cut down on some spam.

I had that happen ages ago with my Yahoo account. I finally just closed the account all together and got a gmail account. I'm not alot more careful about what I sign up for. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Well, yahoo's spam filter is halfway decent; however my problem is lately not only is more spam going to my inbox, but also emails from family, friends, and prospective employers are sometimes going into the spam box, which means I need to go through the spam box every day, which sort of defeats the purpose. And yes that has happened to me...a week or so ago I signed up for emails with jokes, to get points for something...I got about 10 spams before I got any jokes...they were dumb enough to label them with the site name so I know that is where they came from. After unsubscribing it took several days to stop receiving them. I realize that was lucky, as usually unsubscribing does no good. On a somewhat related note, I am wondering when spammers will realize that WE realize, that time machines being still nonexistent, no legitimate email comes from the future. First thing I do when looking at the email is delete all the messages from 2038. Apparently the future holds...a lot more spam! lol

The same thing is happening to me as well with Yahoo. I have to check my spam folder constantly to find important stuff. They're letting spam through, but shutting out friends. How weird is that? Get it together Yahoo!

Yeah one morning I found 500+ spam email on my old ISP account that I have not touched for awhile. I called that ISP telling them I am not with them anymore and requested to cancel the account completely, together with the old email address. I can't imagine where do these spammer knew my email from. Luckily I did not open any of them.

Welcome to the world of internet marketing. Like you, I get tons of emails in my email account from signing up for things. Every serious marketer out there seems to be using the opt-in method to build their list of email subscribers. Once you sign up for anything, be it a newsletter, a free gift, an e-book or report or just more information about an opportunity, you automatically subscribe to their opt-in list, and next thing you know, you will be contacted by them almost everyday with new emails about opportunities they are marketing. Sometimes, the emails can be useful stuff, but much of the time, they are sent to bolster the marketers' prospect of increasing their earnings from whoever they send their emails to. The responsible marketers will allow people to unsubscribe from their mailing lists, but some don't have these features, and these are usually the spammers who keep dishing out unsolicited mails to you.

My email is always full of spam. I even try to block all of it but they have so many different addresses I just have learned to live with it. It does become a hassle sometimes but I try not to let it bother me.

I seldom receive spam recently and I have several email accounts,we can distribute our different email account for different use and donot subscribe and you had better not make contact with anyone who you donnot know if you donnot wanna receive any spam in your inbox. And I think choosing a good email service provider is also very important coz some email SP provide better solution for anti-spam.
