Can you honestly answer this question?

Have you ever been asked the question, "What's your favorite song?" or even, "What's your favorite band?"
I have been thinking about it and I honestly cannot answer either of those questions. There are so many different genres and eras of music that you'd have to be more specific on the question with me. Like ask, "What is your favorite kind of music to listen to?", "What is your favorite '80's love song?", "Do you have a favorite ballad?". Those kinds of questions are starting to be a necessity when asking about music because of the different types of music and stuff.
I love all types of music. I am more partial to 80's, 90's alternative, and country of any sort. I have a few artists and bands that I like in each era. This is why I say that you cannot honestly answer this question unless you only listen to one person or band everyday, right? I don't know exactly but I was just thinking about that today when someone asked that question on TV.
Can you answer that question? What kind of music do you listen to? Any songs that you know every word to?

I have had alot of people ask me whats my favorite song or whats my favorite band,and I have thought about it over the years,and it is very hard to answer those questions,all I know is I love country music,and I love most country artists,and there are very few songs that I know all the words too.

Wow Amee, That's quite a list you have going on! I'm glad to see that people have so many interests in music as music tends to be the one thing I can relate to :D Just remember next time one of your friends asks you what your favorite song is...think of this post. I like lots of genres. Like country, classical, golden oldies. But once in a while a song comes along that really grabs me and holds on. The one I am attached to is a song that is so uplifting and lovely. It plays on my profile. It's called You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) by Josh Groban.

I just pick the ones that immediately come into my head. I do have a few songs and bands that I can always address with ease because of their memorable material. I can never answer specifically when it comes to artists themselves. I usually give out my favorite genres so it gives the person of idea of what I like. Then if I'm asked to name a band or song, I'll just say whatever pops into my head first. So, yes, I think it's incredibly difficult to give a one or two word answer to these questions.

LOL!!! That's EXACTLY what I do! Or (since I LOVE karaoke) when people ask me what I sing the most I list off a few songs that I sing so that they can choose from there. Other than that you named exactly what I do. I just name a few genres or even artists, bands, or song names but there is never just one specifically. Thanks for the comment :D

I listen to anything that isn't rap or country, with very few exceptions. My favorite band is Coheed and Cambria but I can honestly say I don't think I could pick an all time favorite song.
