What comes to your mind when you first think of corn?

Oh, my!!!! I love corn. When I was a kid, my grandparents always kept a garden. When my grandmother knew I was coming over to spend a day or so, she would always go out into the garden and pull some fresh corn and cook it for me. Then she would make some homemade noodles (my other favorite). And serve it together just for me!!! I'll eat it any way that it is prepared. I have just recently learned how good it tastes when microwaved. I've just about used up all of last year's corn from my freezer by this method. It's quick and so very tasty. Good thing the new corn season is just about here. I don't especially relish the so-called 'fresh' corn that I get from the produce section at the grocers. By the time it gets trucked from Florida or California or wherever it's coming from, it no longer has much of a fresh taste. But if I'm having a corn attack, I'll buy it and zap it and load it down with butter. Not margarine, but honest-to-goodness butter. The microwave seems to restore some of the taste.

what first comes to my mind when I think of corn is the stinkin ethanol program that has practically destroyed the usa's economy - and left consumers without choices.
