smudgy, smudgy liner

I've tried different brands/kinds of eyeliners... same problem every time. It smudges... As a result, I develop dark circles around my eyes. Help! And what can I do to prevent it from smudging?

they do have base coats that you put on first that reduce smuging/fading..but if you have creases under your eyes at all like i do,you might just want to switch to liquid.i gave up trying pencil for that reason.

I also am an avid eyeliner wearer! I tend to like the liquid liners better than the pencil liners, and one liner I really like is actually Mary Kay. It is a little expensive for my taste (call me frugal), but I do like it a lot. Easy to put on and easy to get off... hasn't smudged for the most part. It has peeled off when it got wet, but I'm sure they have a waterproof kind.
