What is the strangest place your cat wants your attention?

My beloved Rain has the oddest times and places for demanding my attention and affection. When I'm working on the laptop, she will come and stand with her front paws on my knee as if to say move that dang box so I can have the lap. When you are in the bathroom, she likes to open the door and come in so you can rub her belly while you potty. When I am at the door of my closet getting dressed, she wraps her tail around my leg and then does a belly flop, begging to have her tummy rubbed. She thinks the linen closet is a perfect place to sleep, enjoying it instead of her beds, the window sill, and her basket, which are also approved napping places. Then, when I make dinner at night, she stretches up trying to reach the counter to get my attention. Waht are the strangest ways/places that your pet begs for attention?

I have two places and one way she silently begs for attention in a different place. So, the first one is not really a strange place but a weird way. When I am sitting on the couch, if I am chilling out there without a blanket over my and my legs spread out, she will sit on one of the end tables, the end of the couch or on the coffee table and stare at me. She can do this for minutes unending. What she wants is for me to cross my legs and cover them with a blanket so she can lay in the gap. She also gets affectionate when we sit at the dinner table. She will reach up, while standing on her hind feet, with one paw and touch my elbow and then she will rub the top of her head on my elbow. She has done that so hard in the past that I hit my nose with the food on my fork when she knocked my whole arm up with her head. LOL! The last weird place that she and her 2 sisters like to ask for affection is, like yours, the bathroom. I don't know why. I don't get it. We don't get affectionate with them in their bathroom. LOL! The one I was just talking about, Sydney, will rub back and forth, rub her face and sides against the door frame, and talk about how much she wants some attention. Purr, another one, will want to crawl into my lap but, ummm...no! Not appropriate! LOL! And the third, Martini, used to try to crawl into my undies at my ankles. Weirdos...all of them! LOL!

Too funny! Rain hates it when i'm covered in a blanket. She'll come up in her typical give-me-lap pose and paw at the blanket until I move it so she can have the lap. She also prefers it when I sit on the futon to the couch... Rain likes to watch the water in the toilet too. I'm glad she hasn't figure out how to flush :)

Thank you for the Best Response! I think it is funny that your cat doesn't like it when you are covered with a blanket. Mine demands it of me! LOL! Thank you again for the BR!

Darla is always at odds with the computer-if I'm not paying enough attention-she will NOT stay off the keyboard. I see I'm not alone in the "cats-in-the-bathroom" department. Again-Darla is the main culprit. She has to come in with me before I go to bed. Stop petting-you get nipped in the netherregions! I guess it's a love nip- but still-I am not in the best position to fend her off, lol. Grace shoves the door open just to see what's going on, and Loki will pop in from time to time-usually to pester his sister. My poor hubby, on the other hand-has 2 cats AND the dog-a 75+ lb. basset, in there with him at once! And while this is not a strange place, per se- it's odd behavior. When little Grace wants to have a nap upstairs on the bed-I have to "help" her. I have to sit with her and pet her until she goes to sleep. She's 2 years old now- but still mews like a kitten in those contented moments. How can one resist that?

Awww.... Rain is much more likely to give you "The I'm sleeping go away stare when she wants to nap", but she does love to walk on the keyboard. Her favorite is when she can hit the big blue button and reall upset mommy.

Moomin - Moomin the mad moggie
Moomin my mad moggie is always demanding attention. He will sit on my desk while I am typing and try to*help* me at the keyboard, play with the mouse or catch the cursor. He also has the tendancy to sit on my feet if I don't pay him enough attention, there is nothing like a large furry footwarmer on cold days.:-)

Moomin is such a cutie! Rain said to tell him she loves his cute little paws :) It's so funny that both he and Rain had the little white socks and white chest. I think she has a bit more orange in her tabby stripes And, she has a dark orange spot in the middle of her very white left back paw that we often mistake for an injury because it looks like blood in her fur. I wish she would be a footwarmer! When she was a kitten, I caled her my kitten mitten because she would sleep on the back of my hand as I tried to type without disurbing her.

And of course our kitties have us very well trained do they not? LOL. Well obviously my Pyewacket must think my stretching out in bed, and reading before sleeping must be boring...since he'll hop up and sits right on top of my book, so of course can't read..My other kitty Kissy nearly gives me a heart attack since I'll be in front of the computer, and I guess she's fed up with all the attention I'm giving to the computer so she reaches up and digs her claws into my thigh...can we say OUCH?? sometimes she even hops up on the computer desk and gets between me and the monitor so can't do a thing...ah, well, what can we do, right? hehe

Thankfully, Rain understands that claws are for playing with Da and with me she has to be gentle. She is funny though when she gallops up and throws ehrself around you leg like a scratching post. Then, she'll nibble on the knee, looking up at you. When she catches your eye, i swear she laughs and then runs off, expecting you to chase her.

I think I've mentioned this in a couple other places, but my Chloe, when I wasn't staying at Mom's, would reach up and pull me backwards in my office chair when I was at the computer and ignoring her. I'd have to pick her up after which she'd drape herself over my left shoulder for a bit of high intensity purring and neck licking (OK - weird, but that was her). If Chloe was hungry and I wasn't being "johnny on the spot" with hers and Shady's meal, I'd be soon hearing the cupboard doors slamming shut because she was pulling them open and letting go, repeatedly. If I stayed away from the apartment too long, I'd find toilet paper confetti all over the bathroom with huge chunks bitten out of the roll of TP. She was NOT a happy kitty and made sure I knew it! LOL But, they sure do love us - if they didn't, they wouldn't act out!!

So funny! When we are gone too long, Rain will be standing by the door on the kitchen counter (where she knows she is not allowed) to greet us when we open the door. I think she just likes to point out that if we aren't there, she can do what she wants. She also learned the trick the cabinets, but she doesn't do it for food...she does it in themiddle of the night when she gets bored. Fifteen minutes locked in the bathroom (her litter box is in there and she had waterand it was only 15 minutes) and a harsh scolding convinced her to stop it. Now, when I go to bed, she comes and sits on a stool in the bedroom watching the coutside world. Normally, she wakesme a few minutes before the alarm by stretching up next to the bed and talking to me, but today she sat on her stool at 6 a.m. and complained loudly about something outside. I think the neighborhood raccoon might have been out.

Only strange place my cat wants attention is the bathroom. She will walk up to you and put on of her paws and your knee then stretches her other paw as far as she can as to try to grab you LOL she's so funny sometimes.

Rain either wangts her belly scratched while you are in the bathroom, begs to be alowed to play in the linen closet, or uses that time to use her paws to scrape the two walls next to her litter box...I guess she thinks I need reminding that the box is hers LOL!

My cat also loves to go with me to the bathroom. It doesn't matter at all what he is doing prior to me getting up and going to the bathroom, he'll be right behind me. He also likes to get attention, of course, when I am trying to do something. Also, if I sit at the computer. He'll come running up to me then.

They ertainly like to be the center of attention, don't they? Rain will ignore me all day and then try to push the laptop away to get her Lap time.
