I wish I lived closer so I could take a tour
It sounds li8ke fun
I wonder if other cities are doing this?
Do you know of any?
If you are looking to improve your culinary ability you
have to take this tour! You go to the greenmarket for one
of CENYC's Chef Tours and Tastes. You get to join one of
NYC's top chefs, maybe Savoy's Peter Hoffman, The Tasting
Room's Colin Alevras, or Butter's Alex Guarnaschelli, on a
tour through the local greenmarket, you pick the freshest
ingredients from their favorite local farms, then help with
cooking up a five-course meal at their restaurant using
those foods ( June's rhubarb in a dessert tart). Proceeds
benefit CENYC's greenmarkets, which support local farmers,
and education programs like these and other community
classes. There are only about 20 slots for each tour.
Tours cost $125/person, excluding beverage and gratuity
($65 is tax deductible).
