What would you do if you were in arrears for your rent and all the sudden your vehical needs maintanence A.S.A.P? Would you pay the rent and not drive if you lived out in the country with nothing around? Or would you pay to fix your vehical immediately so you can get to work? The situation is that you have enough money for the rest of last months rent but repairs on your vehical is the same amount as your money for the rent. What would you do?

i would pay my rent.it wouldn't do me any good living in a car that didn't work.i would also ask the local parish for help, some will once, even if you're not of their faith.

Hi scarlet, What if there was no transportation available in your area either. You live out in the country where it's miles till you get to a town or any store? What would happen for next month's rent when you can't get to work because the vehical is just sitting? What if your hubby had other child support payments due every month and he had to pay them otherwise there's harsh consiquences such as jail time. Thanks for your opinion

i've been in that situation where no car,4 miles to work, thankfully i had a bike, though i know that's not always feasable. 8 miles round trip sucked um..that's really hard in that case. i can understand that-i had a friend who was jailed almost immediately for support,he had like 8 kids, racked up fast. i would try to get hold of a parish though,at the very least they might be able to help you with something.

Well, my car will just have to sit, until I come up with the money... I will have to pay my rent, because I am not trying to feel staying with any other irritating person..

Ask a local church for help with repairing the car. Choose a larger church that may have a strong benevolence fund or a church in the area known for volunteerism that may have a member who can repair it for you. If you have a job and are not that far behind on rent, you can make a good case that you are doing your best and are a worthy person who just needs a little help. This is also a good reason we all need to be friendlier neighbors. If you know your neighbors someone may be able to give you a ride to work -or close- for a few days or so.
