Success depends on the songs, it must be mass appealing. If David Cook can have a good line up of a song that is surely hit then he will be as BIG as dauthry. The song impact is important as the songwriters says... it's easy to make a song but it's hard to create a HIT SONG. Tp make it to the top Cook must have a HIT SONG. Hit song is the life of a singer. Without hit song there's no BIG artists.

Folks, I apologize in being tardy in responding, but at the same time THANK YOU for responding to my David Cook comment.
Ksha777, you are correct in saying that the songs must be mass appealing...thy have to have that 'something' at teh very beginning that catches you/grabs you that you are tapping your feet from the get go.
greenglitterturtle, if he lands the good manager/promoter he will land on those shows that will showcase his talents (Tonite Show, David Letterman, to name 2 as an example).
KrauseHome, don't compare Daughtery to Cook...they are both unique...enjoy their music.
cooldude_no1, David Archuletta will do well on his own, once again as said above, with the good manager/promoter. He has a unique singing style.
m0rnings, Taylor Hicks is a forgotten individual at this time. Carrie Underwood has far outshone all with her accomplishments.
marilynut, David Cook can take ANY song and make it his own. He proved it with one of Lionel Richie's on American Idol.
toni_nakama, I am not sure if the folks who audition and make it into the Top 10 can phathom just how much their life can turn around in a matter of weeks...rags to riches...Pris to limo status.

Well, I was just wondering this one tonight even. Can he be as Big as Chris Daughtery? Who knows. Chris has become a Big star, and quite sucessful even without winning American Idol. Carrie Underwood is so big there is no real comparison yet, and it will be hard for anyone else to ever do this well. But I think honestly David Cook will do alright. It just depends on what style of music he continues to choose to do, and if people can continue to have him appeal to them. It will be interesting.
As for David Archuletta. He should do just fine. I think for him American Idol gave him enough of an exposure to get known, and there were a lot of people who Love him who will continue to support him no matter what he does from here. I just wish these 2 the best.

I think he will be better, if not the same success as Chris Daughtery. Not only he made the songs his, he also has the star looks. Therefore, he is the complete package. David Archuletta is great and I also personally think that he has better singing voice than cook. But he is too young and. . . boring, I guess.
You see, American Idol is not about singing talent anymore. Everybody know that AI has found lots of talents and the public nowadays are just bored of just singing. That's why I believe now, the voters are looking more than just singing and that's why those that has gossips, great hair, great looks, always stay longer than those that has natural singing talent.
