Obviously XP is the best or rather most popular Operating system of its time.I feel Vista is a worthy successor. It has got cool look and is technologically advanced..Its a matter of time Vista takes over from XP. Vista is held back because of the higher hardware costs and its compatibility with the exiting hardware.I think, its more of futurised. And with better Security enhancements..Its going to hold the stage soon.

yeah you are correct that vista has got cool features but one thing that it really lacks in is the security feature. you are saying that vista has got great security feature but the correct thing is it isnt that great in security. its stii a concern for vista. and yes thanks for your reply

what da.... vista has far more security than XP!! sample being... in XP a file sent to you... can turn your telnet services on and get access to host pc!! while in VISTA... telnet needs to be installed first!! it is far more secure than XP

Windows xp for me. I havent tried Vista yet, so I don't know if it is good or bad or whatever. From what I hear it's not much. So I opt to stay with my good ole Windows xp. LOL! If it's only the cool look, well, you can;t do anything with the cool look except to stare at it. True thing that count is the application, the ease of use, versatility, and...price? LOL!

yes you are really correct its just the cool look with vista . and as far as windows xp ic concerned its great to deal with it. actually i got so muchof knowledge about xp that i just dont care to go for windows vista and that is the reason why i even refrain a lot of my friends of changing over to vista and yes money, hardware problem is also the cause. anyways thanks for your reply.

you all have gone really nuts :P vista is far better than XP in all regards.... even though i would say... both $uck... and none is secure!! but still comparing vista with XP!! only good thing with XP is low requirements!! vista has a lot of advantages!! primarily being.. use of USB as RAM!! no problems of virtual memory...!! high security...!! better looks...!!

At the moment, XP. Until Microsoft can fix problems with Vista's compatability, it'll take a back seat to XP. Also, hardware prices for components such as DX10 GPU's (if you want Aero) and 64-bit CPU technologies (if you are planning on running more than 4gig of RAM) need to come down even more. Furthermore, as with any new OS, there are bound to be teething problems...once these are ironed out, Vista will take the lead. Another curveball that lurks around the corner: Windows Vienna/Windows 7 that will be launcehd within the next 3 years

XP though it still has lots of bugs, since my PC can't handle Vista LOL it's too heavy for my PC, so i'd better just stick with XP than have to wait long enough for my PC processing the action i take every time i want to do something with it if i'm using Vista LOL

Well i haven't actually used windows vista but what i have heard i don't like. I use xp pro and don't plan on upgrading to vista anytime soon if ever. If i do ever upgrade it will probably be to whatever is after vista.

I have had fantastic luck with Windows XP, and I am not looking forward to having to upgrade to Windows Vista when this computer finally craps out on me. I am not looking forward to that, one it. My husband works with Windows Vista at work, and he says it's absoluely useless.
