How do you get referrals?

Those of you who are experts or can at least get referrals please share how you've got them. I only have 5 referrals and 3 of them, i don't have a clue how they got my link. I really need some help. HELP ME OUT!

Hi there insane duck! I got my referrals from the other boards where I'm a member of. I used my mylot link as my signature and about half of my referrals came from other message boards. I also told my relatives and other people that I know about mylot and they make the other half of my referrals.

I get my Yuwie referrals mostly on Big Crumbs and on some of the traffic type sites (surf for points and they will display your site). I get all my other referrals, including for Big Crumbs, on Yuwie.
