Have you ever played a musical instrument? Can you still?

I began playing clarinet in 5th grade. I continued through high school except for 9th grade because band class and Spanish class were scheduled at the same time. By the time I was a Senior, I was first chair. But, I no longer play. I can run the scales on the clarinet, but I don't have the muscle tension needed to continue and I can't remember the note fingerings. It has been so long. But, playing in the band was so much fun. We competed against other marching bands, went to NYC every year to see Broadway musicals (we saw 1776, Sugar, and Jesus Christ Superstar) and would go to see the Philadelphia Philharmonic at least once a year. I also learned tenor sax, which used basically the same fingerings as the clarinet, and played in the dance band. All in all, being a part of all that helped me develop the pleasure I get from music today. I can still pick out the instruments in an orchestral piece and know the difference between 3/4 time and a triple over two. Did you play an instrument? Can you still play? Has learning helped you enjoy music any more than you might have?

When I was in 3rd grade I plated the flute with other students who wanted to as well . I never was all that good at it . I could play jaws and that is all i can remember . The teacher I had was a poor one and only spent time with the students he thought could learn faster . I just felt I was always left in the wind when learning . I never later in life tried again. If I ever do it will be the drums
