what do i do, can i get a new hard drive with widows xp installed? and what about my drivers. will the new hard drive automatically install them? thanks to all who previously responded to my laptop issue

if you have windows XP has been already installed, you must install the driver for your OS, or you can simply reinstall the windows XP, but if that doesn't work, that mean you must format your hard disk. I hope you can use my suggestion. thank you

Since your using a laptop, it would be much better to bring it to its service center. Just bring along your installation disc; win XP, drivers, office and the like and let them do the installation. There's still a possibility that you can use your old HD as external drive IF the damage part are only at the boot area. Ask the technician for such configuration.
