Red Wings Sweep?

The Detroit Red Wings sure have looked good thus far in the Stanley Cup Finals. It seems hard to say they won't sweep the series. The Penguins haven't been close yet. They are being dominated all over the ice. Do you think they will get it together and make a run with a few wins? Will Crosby step up and help lead them over a powerful Red Wings squad?

I don't know but it would seem like you waited for this big match up and it's about to end before really getting into it. I expect the Red Wings to win the series but for some reason would like this go up to 6 games at least. I don't know if the Penguins can make a run at it but it would be good if they can get a W so it doesn't look like a clean sweep and actually bring some excitment into the series. Detroit has looked great without question.

I am a Red Wings fan, so I would be perfectly okay with a sweep. You have a good point about bringing excitement to the series though. It is already pathetic enough that it seems like ESPN hasn't covered the playoffs much at all. Everyone seems much more concerned about the basketball playoffs which is about to drive me insane and they aren't even to the finals yet.

It probably has something to do with Hockey being placed at the bottom of the pole and not really given attention. It's pretty much how it is due to popularity or the simple fact that the seasons with basketball and hockey end around the same time. Maybe that's it, couldn't tell you. Maybe there just aren't any hockey fans out there or something.

I think the strike a few years back was the breaking point. Before that I remember seeing hockey games on ESPN on occasion. The new changes they made with the blue line and all were a good idea in theory. I wasn't a big fan of the changes, but I expected them to help the sport make a comeback. Maybe they will figure out a way to make hockey big again. I miss watching a game on ESPN every now and then.

I can see the S word but I don't want to jinx The Wings by saying they will do The S word. But unless the Pens change the way play it will be a S word.

I can see a sweep happening. Personally, I don't want it to happen and here's why: I would have to Tivo it, because I know I'll be working through games 3 and 4. I live in Las Vegas, whom if anything, would only be playing their own hockey team (the "Wranglers") on the radio. While I do have XM in my car, it is in the shop due to an accident, and the car I am driving right now doesn't have XM. Therefore I am virtually screwed. However, if it does go to 5 games, I WILL be on the Strip at a bar watching the game, so for the sake of being with fans, I hope it goes to 5 games, but that's it!

Without jinxing the Red Wings, if they were to win, I would love for it to be in 5 games and in front of the home crowd. Go Wings!!!

I look for them to win at least on of two at home. then again i expected them to score a goal last night. It seems appearent to me that that people just didnt realise just how much better the west is compared to the east.

Thats a good point. Surely they can win one at home. Of course, if i remember correctly, Osgood is still undefeated in finals games. 8-0 would be a very impressive career record if they can pull it off.
