Sometimes, I think no matter how much you love someone, it is necessary to say goodbye and end the relationship. It is best for them and it is best for you. I am going through a trying time like this right now myself and wondering if that is how it is going to end. It is sad.

credit the doors for this one but i remember this line from them when i read your post, "the story of life is like a blink of an eye, the story of love is hello and good bye, until we meet again..." yes i think goodbye is another way of saying i love you but you know love is really overrated. love doesn't make the world go round. it only keeps it populated. just my thought.

i guess so...just what an old song says, "some say love is holding and some say letting go..." saying goodbye and letting go of someone you truly love can be truly painful.

Most of us who have a child in some degree have to go through this very thought eventually... As we prepare our kids for the world, we pour our sweat, tears, love & heart into the effort... As they reach the age of an adulthood, we say goodbye to the child we have come to cherish, we let them go into the world & worry for them everyday... It's hard to let go or even admit our kids have all grown up... We love them & want them to lead a good life, have a family of their own, but yet at the same time, it leaves a void in our heart, some empty part of our lives that misses & longs for those times running around with our kids when they were just a toddlers... "If you truely love something (someone), let'em go... If it was truely meant to be, they will return..."

I have a quote I would like to share with you . Often times we say goodbye to the person we love without wanting to. Though that doesn’t mean that we've stopped loving them or we've stopped to care. Sometimes goodbye is a painful way to say I love you."

i thought goodbye ment a closure of a friendship like not to see that particular person for a cetain amount of time , or basically break up ? am i wrong ..? i beg to differ on that , i dont think it equals i love you , it has to mean moving on and to better and newer things

In a very different kind of way. It is a way of saying I love you. Some people may not see it as that or want to at that point in time but it is another way of saying it.

maybe......coz sometimes you must let go inorder to express your love...for love is not ours to command!

Its really hard and painful to say goodbye to someone you love but there are really some instances that it is much better for both parties to separate than to stay to the relationship and that situation makes it really difficult. I have been in that situation before and I can say that it was hell. I can't able to cry since my tear ducts seem to dry due to crying. It took me months to overcome that pain but now I as i look back to that I can say that saying ilove you, goodbye has been one of the great decisions Ive made.

Nope. I think it is just the opposite because i love you is the opening statement and goodbye is the closing(^^,)
