http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080528/od_afp/lifestylebritainauctionhistory_080528122922 Check out this story. This guy was given a cup to play with when he was little. Finds it under his bed when he's moving, although he just believes it's brass, he decides to get it valued. Then he realizes, not brass, but a rare piece of Persian TREASURE!! It's gold, which dates back to the 3rd or 4th century b.c. It is also of the Achaemenid empire, which was wiped out by Alexander the Great. Making this piece extremely fascinating. And all under this man's bed. Amazing... !!!!!!!500,000 pounds (630,000-euro, 988,000-dollars)!!!!!!!!! He admitted that as a child, he used it for target practice with his air gun!!! OMG lol

I suppose nobody in that family knew that it was an antique or the Grandpa wouldn't have given it to him to play with. Well, I'm sure the money is welcomed. It's highly doubtful my family has given me any treasures like that, I doubt they ever owned anything like that to begin with, lol. Would be nice though. We could use it right about now;)

Amazing, I heard of stories about valuable framed pictures found in a attic worth $$$$$, garage sales where the people having the garage sale didn't know that they had a treasure right in their back yards. There is probably plenty more.
