For less than $300US, with at least 500gb or 1tb. At first, I thought myBook was ok, but now that I've read some negative reviews about stopped file transfers and stuff, I don't know what to get. The LaCie 500gb one looks good to me, but only has usb 2.0 (I actually have a old comp I want to transfer stuff from. But besides that, well as long as the price is ok, its ok if it only has 2.0 ill find some other way to get stuff off the old comp. But which brands or models are most reliable? Thanks!

well i think the bestr will be a baracuda as it is i think the best company of hdd and they are leading now. wester digital is also slowly getting the +ve reps. but then samsung is also very reliable.

I like Western Digital and Iomega, but i've never used any external hard disk with a capacity as great as that so I couldn't tell you how well they perform.
