What's your best advice for a newbie on MyLot?

My best tip for a MyLot newbie would be to have fun! I see a lot of veterans on MyLot who take the discussions way too seriously. And, that's just sad. They get so jaded! Not everyone. Just a couple people. And, they make posting here, no fun at all. Newbies are full of enthusiasm. Not jaded, at all. If you're a newbie, enjoy it, while it lasts. And, don't let a handful of negative people spoil your fun. My other tip would be this. Post a lot of smaller responses (3-4 lines) until you hit 500 and then you'll have the chance to use the copy/paste feature. You won't make lots of money on your first 500 doing this, but you'll gain the right to use copy/paste a lot sooner than most others. Once you hit 500 posts, you can then write all your discussions out on Notepad (or wordpad) and then copy/paste them into Mylot. You can do big batches of copy/paste at one time. It works so much faster than typing, clicking, adding tags, etc. And, then starting over. Also learn to work in multiple tabs or windows if you post lots of responses or discussions. You can easily open up ten tabs and post a response in each "window" in half the time it takes to open up a tab and then let it cycle around before you find a new discussion to respond to. Hope those tips help. What's your best advice for someone new on MyLot? Please share your positive comments and advice. Thanks.

That's a great idea about typing alot of posts in Motepad first, [b]beautyqueen[/b}thanks so much for the suggestion, I think I shall try it I am forever working with multi tabs open. It cna be a bit confusing at times, but I try to stay organized I think you have hit on all the major points of advice for newbies. I am just going to reiterate on having fun. Find topics you are passionate about and let the words just flow. Make lot's of friends and don't worry so much about the money aspect. It is a great bonus at the end of the day, but writing and contributing to well written discussions and getting alot of enjoyment are the key things!

You're so right! On days that I have fun and forget about keeping count, I usually get way more involved in writing and following up with discussions and consequently make more on those days. It's a nice bonus like you said and it doesn't feel like work when you're having fun.

Wow, I'm not even a newbie, and I found this informative. My best tip would be to accept all friend requests. The more friends you have, it seems the more people that respond to your discussions. If anyone becomes negative, you can always silently remove them at that point. And I agree, keep it positive.

Oh, that's a good one! About adding friends. And, I so agree. I never turn down friend requests. But sometimes it takes me a couple days to get around to accepting all of them. But, I do love having new friends over for a chat. LOL! Be well. Thanks for joining the chat.

I am 300 post old but the second tip was worth righting it in gold. i completely forgot the cut and paste feature and thanks to this discussion you created now i can concentrate more on reaching that five hundred mark. Anyways I will have to reach it If i need to get anywhere near the payout i want to achieve this month.

Oh, definitely! You can do it. I made payout within my first week posting on MyLot. I had joined about ten days before the end of the month and posted short discussions non-stop until I made 500 posts and I made payout! The next month I started doing copy/paste with much success. Best of luck. I'm a heavy poster and put up lots of discussions, so if you ever need even more discussions to respond to, feel free to drop by anytime. Best of luck! Be well.
