I miss really old pc games and playstation and gameboy games. Either I was younger back then, or it really was more fun! I miss the point n click adventures like the monkey Island series, and Sam n Max, all the lucas arts adventure games. Also I remember micro machines:D! It was fun multiplayer and knocking people off the table:P There was some really old racing track game where you drove 4x4 on sand dunes, but i cant really remember the title, its like micro machines but on a smaller track and lots of bumpy sand dunes, and simpler graphics. Also Leisure Suit larry was fun:P Actually played when I was really young, so I didn't really know why the lady in the bed got pregnant in the game then:D. It was a funny game tho:P And FF7 is kinda oldschool nowadays, since its more than 10 years ago now:D. But I remember when it was new!! Harvest moon on snes was really addictive. Didn't know brushing cows and growing veges could be so much fun :S. Well tetris is probably the most old school game i ever played, since I played it when i was 4 or 5. Actually, i also played minesweeper in windows 3.1 or something, and columns:o What's everyones favourite old games?

Wow! What a great topic. I must admit that I completely know what you mean. I'm not saying that they should get rid of role players or first person shooters, I just wish there were more alternatives. I mean, I can't tell you how much I used to love playing those old games like Kings Quest, Police Quest, Gold Rush, the Lucas Arts games, and the 7th Guest. I liked how you could take your time and explore. Also, I am not the best at shooting, jumping, and fighting, so I really appreciated games that let me think for myself a bit more and really follow the story. I used to love 4x4 as well. My sister and I used to play it together to see which one of us could bust the transmission on our car first. So much fun. The exciting thing about this is that I don't think we are the only ones who miss these kinds of games. There are two new Sam and Max games (being released in chapters by Game Tap, but you can also buy an entire season at once...once it is complete that is), and I believe there will be a fan made King's Quest game. Though not officially King's Quest, you can read about it here: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1517812/20050712/index.jhtml I reall hope that this is the start of a new trend. I miss those old games!

space quest was cool...we had an old zenith ez pc and I played that one...I thought it was cool that zztop was the band that played in the alien bar. I think games had a better sence of humor back then, they weren't so darn serious.

Yeah ive played space quest before too. Hehe, definitely better humour back then! I mean, the writers were actually important in games back then. Now its mostly just about graphics, and the plot is lost somewhere on the way... : (. Now also, people don't make adventure games much anymore, barring rpgs. You know, the type where you walk around and talk to people, and pick up objects and stuff. That can be fun! and the plot is deep. It's much deeper than shooting up some bad guys/zombies taking down some villain at the end, that's fun too sometimes, but nearly no real plot :D

Well, I still have a bunch of old school games for my Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Genesis. I've got around 90 games for the original Nintendo, and a lot of those are a lot more challenging than the ones of today. I still like games of today, though. It's just that they're so pricey. :( Also, I have just about as many Super Nintendo games. Genesis-not so much. I've got Tetris on the original Nintendo and play it every now and then.

I don't miss them because I've still got them. I've been such a video game junkie that I've kept all of my systems and most of the games. It's fun to go back and play the old ones. Some of the newer games have so many different codes for different moves that it gets dizzying.

Wow, lucky! I had to move house a few times, and I never had many systems as a kid. I played on my friends snes and we had a playstation and a comp. I regret not getting more consoles :P (ok, i had all the incarnations of gameboy tho!), I should have gotten a dreamcast and a ngpc cos there were games on there i just loved :P. I can't get back all the free time i had to play games as i was a kid *cries. It was such a good feeling playing games when I was a kid :D, the memories!

Has anybody ever used an emulator for their PC? I know they are not as good for the key board but I know you could program a game pad if you are really into it. There is an emulator for just about every console too N64, SNes, Genesis, etc. It also is one of the only ways to discover old games youve never gotten around to playing.

Yeah emulators are good if u never got to play the game. I do wish i had all the consoles :D If i ever got like a big house, I can have a room with just consoles, and play what I want :P. There are some gamepads that hook up to pc, or there are adaptars to let u hook up gamepads to it, so it works well.

I really missed playing old school games. I'm kinda addicted to classic RPGs. My favorite one is Final Fantasy VII. Another one is Chrono Trigger of Super Nintendo. It's amazing how they created RPGs for 8bit console. I really missed playing the playstation console with my older brother, we usually play the sidescroll game Metal Slug.
