Do you think that sometimes people get so involved with bidding on an item on ebay that they really want that they dont stop to think they can probably purchase this item at a store for less than what they will be paying on ebay? Here's what Im talking about: I have a pair of Levi blue jeans on ebay. The shipping cost is only $4.70 and I started the bid out at $2.99. Now the bid is up to $12.30 and still has 2 days left. And there are 8 people watching this item. When you think about it, you can buy a pair of Levi blue jeans for @ $16.00 - $18.00 at a store.

Bidding wars on Ebay...ya gotta love them. Of course you also have to hope that the buyer realizes that they have to pay for an item they could get cheaper at the store. We basically sell only sports related item and haven't had too many issues with non paying bidders. It is great when you get more $$ for an item than you had hoped for.

This is called emotional bidding. Do not be too happy about it. From my experiences as a ebay seller, some of items which I have listed for $40 can go up to $100 unfortunately the percentage of the bidders who paid up is very low. In fact if you send the second chance offer to all the bidders there is very likely they will not take up your offer. steveniam http://www.tipsforfastweightloss.com

Hi there! True, some bidding wars on Ebay ended up with prices that are more than the actual retail price. Some reasons why I think these people are caught up with the bidding frenzy: 1) They live in a place where there are no nearby malls or store that carries the brand they want but there is a post office who delivers their packages everyday. :) 2) The bidders might be having a hard time looking for the right size at the local stores and the only place available to find them is on Ebay. This really happens to me when it comes to looking for my kind and size of jeans. :) 3) The cost of driving around to go shopping is getting expensive. 4) Some people just don't have the time to shop at the actual stores and find it convenient to just login and bid on Ebay for things they need. Good luck with your sales!

Yes i think some really bid more than it costs in the market. But if you sell it worldwide, maybe the item you are selling is expensive in their country. Like me, i buy items on ebay that are expensive here in my country but i make sure that i don't bid, including the shipping, more than what it costs here.
