My youngest son has dyslexia. When he was in kindergarden the first time when it came to the end of the year and they said that he had to repeat kindergarden because of the testing that they did i told them that there was a problem and that he was showing signs of dyslexia. They said no he is just not ready to move to first grade. Well he repeated kindergarden and then i kept telling them there was something wrong. Well in second grade they finally said hey he may be learning disabled. I said really. He now is in 8th grade and still has the reading level of a second grader, we have tried many things to help him. But nothing really worked. I think though he is trying and is getting a bit better. He however for the past 4 years has been on the honor roll or high honor roll because he is a really intelligent person. It is mainly that he does retain everything in his head and he is a hands on person. I just wish the school had listened to me when he was much younger. I think that things would have been a little better if they had.
