How much rice do you usually eat for a meal?

In usual, I eat no more than one bowl of rice. Rice isn't the necessary food for me. And I like eating other dishes much more. And this is why my family think I eat like a cat. I don't need a lot of rice, but I love eating meats and vegetables.

wow, a bowl of rice and your family still think you eat like a cat. what kind of bowl are you using at home? i too eat a bowl of rice at meal times. there are exceptions of course, especially when i get my favourite dishes. in fact, all of us at home eat a bowl of rice only during meal times. we will all go for more rice if we get our favourite dishes. so when we cook rice, we will also see what's for dinner that day. if there are favourite dishes of a few members, we tend to cook more rice.

I don't eat a full bowl of rice. My husband said my four years old son eats even more than me. His bowl has more rice than mine. So you can imagine it

wow you must really have a small appetite. i think i won't be able to sleep if i don't get at least one full bowl of rice a day. when i get my favourite dishes, i can even eat up to two full bowls of rice. guess i'm quite a greedy person. i love to eat and i eat when i'm happy. i'll also drown my sorrow in food.

Usually people here eat rice and noodle at all meal, and most eat one bowl. But sure I eat more than one bowl, mostly two but sometime three. But eating too much starch food not that good isn't it?

They are telling us more and more to eat fewer starches, that is also called carbohydrates. The body needs carbohydrates, but the ones that come from processed rice and noodles, and not whole grains can cause our body to have glucose problems.

Hi youless! I do love rice but I am really cutting on it. I used to eat two cups of rice, then cut it down to one and one-half. Now, I am down to one cup of rice and I eat rice twice a day, for lunch and dinner. Take care and God bless!

hi. i used to eat at least 3 cups of rice. But, since I was diagnosed as type II diabetic, i slowly reduced it until I reached a cup nowadays. Mostly, I eat more viands than rice.

I don't eat a lot of rice or potatoes as they are very high is carbs and I am trying to lose some weight. But even when I wasn't dieting I never was much of a rice eater. But then I live in Canada and it isn't as big on our diets as it is on yours. When I do have some rice it is probably only about 1/2 cup and I never eat it plain. I have to have some soy sauce on it or I have to fry it in onions and paprika. I love meats and vegetables more and I eat a lot of salads.

Then we have a different diet. We don't often eat dumplings and noodles as dinner. Perhaps it'll be common for breakfast. I also wish you to have a nice lunch

Normally I only eat rice for certain meals...like chicken and rice. My wife eats much more than I do and would have no problems with eating it at every meal.

I eat rice about once or twice a week. I alternate it with potato and pasta. I am vegetarian, so I have veggie or fruits as 80% of my diet.

I am not really a rice person... eventough rice is the staple food in my country... i can go on for days without eating rice... but i try to eat like a cup or two everyday... but when i don't feel like eating rice... i just go for noodles or bread... i think this is a good thing since the price of rice has sky rocketed for the past few weeks...

But in fact when rice price increases, other prices will increase, too. So even if I am not so keen on eating rice, I still don't like its price increases.

I like Rice but I avoid eating it on weekdays for lunch. The reason is eating Rice for lunch makes me extremely drowsy so much so that I find it very difficult to keep my eyes open at my workplace!Hence I try to completely avoid Rice.Otherwise at home I do have Rice daily at dinner time.We normally have Rice mixed with various dishes like Sambar(a liquidy preparation that contains vegetable pieces and other spices,Rasam(a kind of soup) and Curd(wow this is the best dish for me....the cooler the curd the better!). It is said that Rice is full of carbohydrates and one tends to get a potbelly if one eats too much of it.Also It is not advisable to have it if one has Diabetes.Else atleast for me now I like Rice and relish it.
