I did work in an office and now am unemployed and looking for work. I hope to work in an office again. Do you work in an office, a cubicle or somewhere else (if somewhere else, please describe it)?

I think honestly that cubicles leave a lot to be desired unless there is a window that can be looked out of ... I think that the companies that utilize cubicles are not employee friendly.

I am glad that you were able to see the other person, that would have felt less lonely for you.

I have an office, it's n ot that fancy although it dose have a window. My employees have cubicles. It is kind of depressing, all the colors are daul and boring. It dose livley up around break and lunch time. It is always fun when I go out and make sure everyone is up to task, I try to chat awhile and keep everyone in good spirits.

I always enjoy working in an office a lot. I always love to work in a real peaceful setting where there is not much going on at all where we have to constantly run back and forth to places. I would rather stay within my area to do my office work; filing and data and handling confidential information carefully. I am always careful not to discuss any confidentiality outside at all. I might have to take lots of important calls within my desk to find out each customer's info and requests. Right? You know what I do certainly mean?

Hi bowtieguy, It would be nice if you less your employees decorate their cubicles... That would be far less depressing for them. It is good that you try to keep everyone in good spirits. Thanks for posting... By the way, what kind of business are you engaged in?

Our library System is very close to the image drawn by u. I am working in a Public University, where Govt. allocate annual budjet for the University Expenditures and Library expenses also include in it. The big amount for Book purchasing and daily maintenance from this budget. The other Revenue generating sources are Fine system, the users who fails to return book on the due date, we charge them some fine per day, who lost the book, we recover new book from that user and also charge the fine if due date hav been crossed. Some Private Organizations and personals donate the books or Money to purchase the books for Library. This is the short Introduction of our Library and its system.

Thanks for posting and for doing the work you do as you are contributing to the education of many people by working in a library. I am wondering how your library gets enough monies to purchase books. I understand that it can be difficult. Here in the States, the libraries get some money from the governments, state, federal and local, but normally rely on donations from the community as well... Some of the donations are involuntary in the form of fines if people do not return books and DVDs to the library on time after borrowing them. There is also a charge to use the copying machine at the library and to do a few other things as well. They also have a meeting room which can be used by the community and I think that people can rent that. They also ask for the members of the community to donate books to the library. They then have a Friends of the Library, a non profit, run by volunteers mostly, which helps them raise funds for books. That nonprofit sells the used books that are donated by the community (the ones that are not seen as being fit for the library perhaps because the library already has several of them or because their condition is not good enough for the library's standards). The members of the community then purchase the books and the library benefits from the purchases and can purchase new books. I am wondering if your library has a similar system?

I do work in an office full of tables but not in cubicles. Almost everyone has a computer in from of him. And a lot of papers and folders covered our tables. We work here for 8 hours a day and sometimes, we only got to stand up some 5 times a day (just to pee and have lunch). But we are not bored here, I guess we are used to it.

I have worked in an office before. I have worked in a classroom. I have also worked in city parks before. But my favorite job of all time is the one I have now. I work in my home as a stay-at-home mom. I love everything about it.

Hi there whiteheron! I am sorry to hear that you are unemployed. But since this discussion is already a month old, I am assuming that you already have a job. Well, I teach in one of the universities here in our city. We call our office the Faculty Room or Faculty Office. Each department have their own faculty room. We used to have our own table but the admin decided to let us use long tables where we could share it with our co-teachers.

I have worked in an office before. That was really awesome. I loved to file confidential stuff real carefully. I enjoyed working on certain documents, regarding customers. And they are all kept confidential. We are always careful not to discuss any confidential information outside. Right? I have been laid off from a Travelers Insurance building before due to their budget issues.

I am a freelancer and I work in my home office. In my home office you will find common office equipments like a network of 3 desktop computers and a laptop, a couple of inkjet printers, a multi-function machine (fax, scanner, copier, printer), a machine for plastic ring binding, a laminator and paper cutters.

I work in an office and I have my own cubicle, kind of the secluded type but it's fine with me. I easily get distracted and with my type of work I need to be focused.

I'm working in an office, having a typical office table with a computer unit, in and out going tray, lots of ballpen and markers. My big boss is at my back so I always have to pretend that I'm very busy doing my job. Lolz. We are in the 9F of the building and we could see from the window how the traffic down there is getting worse day by day.
