One of the best modern war movies?

I think the movie "300" is one of the best war-movies from 2007. The thing I like about the movie is that it's not just an ordinary war-movie.. I loved the special effects, including the slowmotions..it was something I haven't seen before in a war movie. Also the fact that the basic story was based on true events made the movie more extraordinary and more fun to watch..
I just love taking history lessons from such movies :-)

The only two war movies that I like are "300" and "Saving Private Ryan". Ahough I've watched a lot of war movies like Platoon, Green Beret. Tora-tora, and some I already forgot titles, These two are my most favorite. They are of different era, but was made really good.

I love saving private ryan to. I also like "Lord of the Rings", "Troy", "Band of Brothers", "King Arthur". Actually I like all the war movies..

The history was pretty off but, what history book isn't off to begin with? I just find it hard to classify it as a true war movie. It seems more like a epic-fantasy-horror-war because of all the other crazy elements added to it. I just couldn't call it a true war flick. Am I wrong?

This is courageous movie and truly inspiring. This is my favorite movie well taken. I watched it twice
