Do good things get ripped away?

I hate it when on a TV series I'm watching a good character starts to find love/happiness and then it is ripped away. Do you think life is like that, too? Do good things stay or do they just get ripped away?

Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes good and sometimes bad.Because of that at times we feel happy and sometimes sad. The best way to deal with such situations is to become detached from them . The really wise person is totally in control of himself unaffected by the joys and sorrows of life. It is such persons who find real happiness in life and believe me i am fortunate to be one of them.
