Is the salary is a secret in your company ?

Now , the salary is a secret in many company, and also in my company , people can not talk about how many he/she get from the boss, only the finacial department know the salary of everyone , becasue they give us money every month ! What about you ?

Is is the same in our company. i think it's a universal rule that all company should follow. And it should be, because revealing salaries may cause tension among employees and employers, this is not good for business.

As they say, curiosity kills the cat. If ever you got to know the salary of others, it may have a positive and more often a negative effect on you. If in case your salary is lower compared to your colleague, you may be demotivated to work or you may feel jealous or angry at your boss. you may feel you deserve more than what you are getting... so it's better not to know.

Yes it's secret in our company. Other employee might get jealous about this if they learned that your salary is larger than his or hers. It might make some employe angry to the Human resource management.

it is actually nothing kept in writting. it is actually working etiquettes. so we don't discuss about salary with others. its followed in almost all Sw companies here.
