One anime that I remember from my past is Read Or Die. It is not the best around but it is a pretty good one. I have been looking for a way to get all the episodes in a box set but have not been able to find one in any store so as much as I distrust online shopping I just might have to use that in order to get it. It starts out as a nice quiet anime as the three paper sisters act as bodygaurds for a female writer. Throughout the show you will notice that two of them are always buried in a book, but the action picks up when you see them battle. They are able to manipulate paper in a certain way for each. One is able to use it basically Gambit style as she throws it at her enemies and it slices through them. Another is able to summon paper-meche like creatures and use them for battle, but unfortunately it has been so long since I last saw one of the episodes that i forgot the third sister's ability. As the story progresses they find out about their shady past and how they were actually created as weapons. I know, what person would take the time to bio-engineer a person who manipulates paper as a weapon, but still the suspense and mystery element does make it a show worth watching and i do recommend this anime to anyone who is willing to watch one with a somewhat slower pace and a little bit more of a quiet atmosphere. I most definitely enjoyed it.
