With his new film The Happening coming out June 6, what's your favorite M. Night Shyamala Film. For me it's a tough choice between The Signs and The Sixth Sense. I wasn't crazy about The Village or Lady in the Water. I have high hopes for The Happening. It looks good.

My favorite movie of his is "The Sixth Sense". I felt the acting was superb, the story was intriguing and the twist was so unexpected. He set himself up with such a great introduction into the entertainment industry, that all his following movies have not met his initial standard, imho. I still enjoyed some of his following movies, like "Signs" and "The Village", but they just didn't have the same magic as "The Sixth Sense".

I agree, The Sixth Sense was a hard act to follow. The ending of that movie was spectacular. I liked Signs and The Village (although I didn't love the ending of that movie.)

I feel the same way but I'll have to go with Signs. Whoever cast Abigail Breslin as his daughter knew a good thing when they saw it. Every time I see her now, I think of Signs. Or Little Miss Sunshine. The Village was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen. I had it figured out before the end and I was hoping I was wrong. But when it got to that point I was like oh no! I was right and it sucks! I hope The Happening is MUCH better.

I would have to say my favorite M. Night Shymalan film is Signs. I'm a big fan of Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix, They are tremendous actors and to have them in the same movie together was pure brilliance. M. Night Shymalan did a perfect job of making the movie idea open to the extraterrestrial believers. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was when Isabelle got killed by the aliens.
