Muffin Tops

What is this recent obsession with muffin tops?
When I get a muffin, I like to cut it in half, butter both the top and the bottom, and then eat the top, then the bottom. I do it that way because when you leave the bottom for last, all the butter that you put into it will soak down deep into the muffin making it wonderful. You could try the same with the top but it would take so much more butter. I like the top too, but I just find the bottom the better part. Oh man, now I want a muffin!
So, what part of the muffin do you like and why?

That sounds yummy! And, of course the muffin top is the best. Most times I love to add cream cheese to the muffin. But, lately I'm obsessed with sour cream and hot sauce, so that would probably go on the muffin. Don't ask me! It's just what I'm craving lately.

Sour Cream I can see, hot sauce though, hmmm, that might be a little beyond me. Depends on the type of muffin I guess.....

When I have a muffin, I cut it lengthwise, so I have both top and bottom of each half. I butter each half and let them stay inside up when heating them in the microwave, so that the butter spreads nicely. I usually like muffins with choco morsels on them and by cutting them lengthwise, I will have choco morsels on each cut to enjoy. I just bought some earlier today and I can't wait for my breakfast tomorrow to have one. Enjoy!
