Why..?

another discussion i ran across the other day.. was of a person seeking money from other mylotters for a sposed prevention of foreclosure on their home.. a disabled single mother with an autistic child.. i went to their websites, i felt badly for them.. as it turns out this person has been sposedly within a few days of eviction and homelessnes.. for the last year and a half. (thewebsite is dated for 2007.. we are halfway through 2008) i made a comment on their discussion to give a headsup to possible other lotters that might feel for this person and donate their hard earned money for this out and out blatant lie and scam.. other lotters comments towards me that im being negative.. im cynical.. pick an adjective for my attempt at trying to keep people from being ripped off. why do some actually WANT to be taken advantage of? why am i the bad guy for tryng to keep people from being scammed? why the hell do i even bother to help people at all anymore..????

Hi Tessah you help people because it is in your nature to do so. You will continue trying to help people also for this reason. Don't let others negative comments affect you like you say they probably want to play victim of scam situations like this that you have rightly highlighted to stop this. Ellie :D

I think you did the right thing and if I'd seen the thread I'd DEFINATELY have done the same damn thing! I have ZERO tolerance for scam artists like that....I think ppl like that who tug on the heartstrings of others are just nasty

There are some very, very strange people on this site my friend. We are all a little strange in our own way and some take it a whole lot further in certain circumstances. A lot of these people end up banned, a lot don't. I'm really surprised no-one reported this person for soliciting as it's against the rules.

I think that you did the right thing, pointing it out I would have been grateful for you doing it.
If others want to believe that you are cynical blah blah, then let them, it is them that will find out the hard way. You did the right thing.
It gets me that folks always believe the bad guy and stone the good guy, and I get the same to the point where I just give up wanting to help!

I appreciate your trying to help others. It shows your true nature is of a caring individual. I like you just fine. The best way to get back at the trolls is to not let them win by leaving something you enjoy doing.
