This is a photo of a bush with some type of little flowers on it. The flowers are little fuzz balls. They did not blow away like a dandelion does when you blow on it. I love taking photos of different type of plants and one rest stop in CA. I got out to see if I could find a barrel cactus to take a photo of and this is what I found instead. Can anyone tell me what type of plant this is? It lives in the Mojave Desert in CA once I was one I noted lots more along the roadside along highway 58 towards Bakersfield.

The photo is pretty out of focus, so I'm having a hard time recognizing what type of flower it is. But my guess would be maybe some type of thistle?

You are probably right about the thistle. I never even thought of that. There was a lot of different thistles there. The flowers are out of focus but the leaves are not. Go figure with auto focus.

Oh, what a funny looking plant! We don't really have plants like that in our area. Where we used to live, we had fragrant flower bushes and they were in everyone's yard and they smelled so lovely driving by with the windows down.
