Whether it is the French or American manicure, they both are very sophisticated looks to me. I could never choose a polish color when getting my full set, too many choices! They always say less is more anyway. And I think these to manicure choices fit into that category. The last time I got my nails done, it was $25 for a full set and a French. Is it the same in your neck of the woods?

I currently have permant french and that cost me $35. i don't have tips, i have my own nails wrapped. my own nails grow out. when i do polish my nails, i get basic summer colors like pink and lavendar. sometimes with little flowers.

Yea try it. It's a suttle difference. If I didnt get a French or The American I would choose pale colors. I remember the trends with all the rhinestones and stuff on the nails, I was never really into that. Did you do it? Whats the new trend in nails today?

I really like to get the french on my nails and toes. I am also not too sure of what the american is. Is it simply just getting them painted all the way?

Me too, I like the French on my nails and toes. Sometimes I will get just the American on my nails for the more natural look.

What is the difference? I've heard of a french manicure before, but what is an American one?

The French manicure is the one with the stark white tip and pink base. The American manicure has a tip that is more natural in color and uses more opaque colors. This site will show you the difference. http://www.alllacqueredup.com/2007/04/french-vs-american-manicure.html
