When a reaction takes place where the products have a higher energy then the reactants what takes place?

Actually, it's endothermic. If the products have a higher energy, then the reactants and additional energy is required. That's an absorption of energy - endothermic. Exothermic reactions involve energy being given off. The power energy products will be produced plus additional energy (eg heat, light, sound).

hmm if the products have a higher engergy level ,an endo thermic reaction takes place
