With or without socks in leather shoes

I remember I have a friend who's not wearing socks when he use a leather shoes and I've ask him why? He's respond is he feel more comfortable when hes not wearing socks in leather shoes. When I saw he's feet, oh its like he has already a socks because the skin on the sides of his feet already a quarter of an inch almost! ha... ha... ha...

I have one pair of leather mary janes that I don't wear with socks. One reason is because they fit snugly, so I don't have room for socks, and the second reason is because they would look completely silly if I did wear them with socks. I don't wear them all the time though, so I don't have terrible calluses on my feet. I think it would be kind of weird to see a guy wearing leather shoes without socks, though.
