Adobe acrobat 9 is out and this time its not a mere software software for creating PDFs. Adobe has taken a big leap in terms of extra features that it has included. The "portfolio" enables you to create a single document with different file types like powerpoint slides, word sheets, pdfs, flash files etc.and saves the output as PDF. You can view a portfolio document on free Adobe reader 9 without needing extra applications to open specific file types used in that document. Numerous other excieting features are also included (check at http://4insanes.com/?p=62).

It does sound like a mighty leap from the traditional PDF. I am a user of Adobe acrobat 8 before, my problem with it is it take too long to load and ordinary PDF. I'm forced to use a free 3rd party PDF reader called Foxit because it is light, faster and I could annotate. How would you compare the loading time of this new version?

Yeah its a big leap from acrobat 8. Well I as far as Acrobat reader 9 is concerned, it is fast. Also creating Portfolio takes reasonable time considering the variety of services it offers. You can also go for acrobat 9 online on acrobat.com. Its a site which offers free services like PDF creation(upto 5 per month), web conferencing, online word processing tool, online sharing and storage of documents with different levels of access for different users. The site is beautifully designed on flash, but is not meant for slow speed internet users as takes time to load.

I've visited the site, its awesome! Acrobat 9 is really wort a try. With all the media now possible to include in a PDF, its size would probably bloat but since they have online storage maybe transferring would be at minimum. Thank you very much Prash for sharing
