Most people here in the UK (including myself) bath or shower at least once a day, but I am casting my mind back to the past. Many many years ago, thinking back to when I first started work (in the late 1960s), most people only bathed once a week, and they would wear the same outer clothes for 2 or 3 days running. Back in those days when people seemed less hygienic, I can honestly say that nobody seemed to smell or have any kind of body odour, yet in much more recent years (like the 1990s/2000s) when I've been working with people who bath/shower usually more than once a day, the incidences of body smells/body odour have been very high. I think we are now conditioned to believe that it's outrageous not to bath/shower each day, but I often wonder if we are removing some sort of outer layer of something or other that is necessary for our bodies and pores to function properly. Another thing is that people nowadays, despite being so very very hygiene conscious, seem to be ill much more often than ever before - catch far more colds, have far more stomach upsets etc. Maybe we need to review our modern-day habits and see if the older ones which now seem distasteful, actually worked better?

It depends on the place where on lives. If it is a snowy and cold area, people avoid bath. In our place, it is hot and humid. People sweat. I take bath everyday, in the morning so that I am fresh to start a day's work. There are some people (labourers who prefer to have bath in the evening). In India, it is a common sight to see that people take bath in the morning.

well, it really depends on the country you lived in and it is up to you. in a tropical country like here in philippines it is really necessary to take a bath,in the morning because if the weather is hot you will feel sticky and uncomfortable and take a bath in the evening because it will help refreshen you and you will be more comfortable and you will have a goodnyt sleep. who wouldnt want that? :) but it is really up to a person if he/she wants to take a bath, its not you who will be feeling uncomfortable and sticky if they don't take a bath, hehehe its important to have a good hygiene.

bathing ahs a unique imp. in our daily life . a bath washes away th dirt adhering to the body , the skin is rendered clean and glowing , and it's pores are opened up , thus facilitating the elimination of poisons in da body through prespiration. The friction on the body caused by bathing and by drying the body stimulates circulation and imparts a blissful feeling of freshness. A good scrubbing relieves fatigue People who perspire too freely should bathe twice a day, as should all of us in summer. ... so i'd say .. take bath everyday ... an lead a healthy life ...

Hi cmk422000, It's not actually necessary to bathe everyday, in fact it's common for people in Britain to only bathe once a week (if that) [;-) Many native Australia Kooris traditionally never bathed - which makes sense, given that the landscape was rather arid and water was in short supply. It didn't matter, because their naked condition meant that they remained clean and healthy anyway - but when European settlers introduced clothes to some of the native peoples, the natives didn't know to wash the clothes or to bathe regularly when wearing clothes, and so the clothes just turn bad and rotten and were ultimately discarded. It might be a similar situation in the Arab lands - no water means seldom bathing. But generally speaking, if you wear clothes, then the natural shedding of oils, sweat and skin means that we MUST wash our clothes and personally bathe on a regular basis, otherwise we become unclean and smelly. A bit like the European gentry of the Middle Ages, who used an awful lot of perfume and powders to try to mask the odor of their smelly butts.

Hello cmk422000, I think it's not really necessary taking a bath 2x. Actually it's all up to you depending on your mood, some do it 3x a day or nothing at all!, It's also depends on the the weather if it too hot well it's good having shower over and over, if it's too cold hmm depends on you still!. It's all about personal hygiene aince it's personal, you yourself knows it what time, how often would you like.. happy my lotting

If we live in a hot place and we sweat more then it is good to take two baths a day to feel clean and good. Or atleast one bath a day is ok. But if we live in a place where it is cold or there is a scarcity of water then we can have bath once in two days or however convenient for us.

I think it depends on climate and body odour. Cooler climates it can cause a cold to have a bath/shower too late in the day so in the morning only is fine as long as the person is not one of those who stinks up easily.

Erm, no one sets the rule of bathing everyday, it might be necessary or unnecessary, taking a bath is purely just for personal hygiene and refreshment. it's up to u to choose what time you want to bath, you could even take another bath after one. But for me, I take around 2-3 baths everyday, because it is VERY hot in my country.
