i am more than excited to say that the best team in the nhl beat the pens a couple nights ago. i live in metro detroit and have therefore been a diehard fan since birth and watching this series made me realize something: its good we werent able to draft sid because he is the biggest whiner out there. every single play he constantly hassles teh refs because they didnt call a game misconduct when the other team checked him. then theres therrien who complained about the refs after the first four games multiple times to get them to call one his way instead of neutral. the only problems i have with the way things went down for us are as follows: osgood should have won the conn smythe(z played amazing in shutting down crosby but I think ozzies performance outweighed his, especially since he started the playoffs on the bench), we should have won game 5 but the refs called 2 bogus goalie interference calls(i know beforehand a lot of you will say that it didnt matter because the pens didnt score on those, but whose to say that if there was no call made the detroit wouldnt have scored and because a call was made, their game was disrupted and their rhythm was lost, for crying out loud the ref that made the call was at center ice for both the calls and neither ref right at the goal made a call). the wings were by far the better team as they dominated the entire series except for a couple periods. next year dang near all of detroit will be returning with probably a couple new faces so I look for detroit to win its 5th stanley cup in 12 years

the blue line will look different Cheli will be the 7th man and play as needed and Stuart is gone. means we ill see most likely Meech up. Ericsson is to play one more year in GR before moving up and start the transition from Nic to him. Hasek gone means we finally will see what we have in Howard. Expect more of a 60-40 ozzie- jimmy. Swedish kid in Net in GR is rumored and scouted to be better then Lundqvist in NY. shall wait and see. Kopecky will be back to fill hole from Drake retiring (not comformed but strongly feeling) core just gets more experienced. Filp. is at risk as a RFA so could be something going on there. Rest of our RFA are not really game tested yet to be worth the high risk u take to steal one from us. no word on downey but playing for detroit i guess did raise his stock some...
