Baby Bunny rescue

My cat William is a bad kitty. A very bad kitty. I can't be really mad at him because he's a cat and following his instincts but he's still bad. We heard a squeeling outside and thought he had a bird. If it was a blue jay I can handle that. They're usually pretty fledged right now but noooo, can't be that simple. William Lancelot had a baby bunny. Barely a week old. Poor little thing. We rescued it! Little thing was pissed needless to say and I'm not sure if it's going to survive to be truthful. It was really cool to the touch. Right now it's in a basket in the kitchen since that's the warmest place right now. I'm hoping it can survive. I looked on the net to see what it needs to survive and unfortunately it needs puppy milk replacer. We don't have any. So if it survives till we go out tonight we'll see if we can get some and hopefully within the next few weeks he'll make it and I can release him. I'm a bunny mommy! lol My question is have you ever found or rescued something and saved it's life? If you have what was it?

Unfortunately I'm sad to say the little bunny didn't make it. I'm just a bit inxeperienced so I'm not sure what happened with the poor little thing. And as I know it wild bunnies often don't survive in captivity unless you're trained in taking care of them.

I'm sorry.. I can imagine how a kitty play with the victim because i see my cats been pocking, jumping and threw a mouse up to the air and jump to it again. But i can understand that it's Willian's nature calling. And William trying to guard your garden just like my kitty guard my house for mices. I prefer wild bunnies than mices,.. yuck! I love bunny too.

We just found a baby bunny today too! My son's father finds lost baby animals all the time. Several years ago he found a baby possum and an OWL! Oh man, I wish I knew where I had the pictures of the owl, I'd show them to you. He was beautiful. We just had them breifly and took them to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

I would have taken mine to a rehab center but unfortunately we don't have one around where I live. I wish we did. It'd make things so much easier around here.

Well I tried saving a mouse from my cat the other day and I didn't. We've had several baby birds that have fallen from nests here that we've tried saving but that hasn't happened yet either. The second one we got ahold of managed to live a few days longer than the first one we tried to save but it still didn't make it.

Poor mousey. I know how that is with little creatures though. I've tried to save baby birds and they've never made it long.

Your Kitty's name is William? ( thought Bubble : ' rather proper name for a fuzzy - feline.....Oh well at least it's not Chopper......Why the Heck does that name Bother me so Much? ) I tried to save a Butterfly ( that I caught ) when I was like 9 , or 10......come to think of it.....the Butterfly's Name was Steven......how Odd is that ? ( thought bubble : things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmm ? ) That didn't work out too good for the butterfly......they don't actually swim that good.......I gave him a Bowl of water to Drink........ ( thought Bubble : quick....change the subject.....this is taking an ugly turn!!!!!!! ) Any how .....what's the weather like where you're at ?????

a bird chick, it grew up and i always let it out to practice flying coz it always came back, lands on my shoulder or head, it got eaten by our cat in one of those instances where i am letting it fly around the house, i took a broom and beat the cat, instinct or not, that was my bird

Aww poor litle bunny and you cant be mad at your cat . Mine have done all sorts of crazy things over the years. When I was a kid I would always try to nurs baby birds that I found that have fallen out of the nest.I had a black cat growing up and he was the king of catching mice outside and bring them back in to play with , or show us . I one time actually sat on one of his mice he sat on a chair . I have indoor cats now and when they see birds at the window they go crazy . They start chattring the teeth and making all sorts of noises . My friend told me the other day she was sitting out in the yard and out of no where he cat dove off the deck and caught a bird in mid air and landed with on the ground . Poor birdie , but wow what skill the cat had she said.
