My first encounter with the Beatles was when I heard their song "Let it Be" in the mid-70s. The song was really astounding. Since then I became addicted to them and gave me such an inspiration to learn on how to play the guitar and write songs as well.

I don't think there was a first beatles song that I've heard. It was more like I was grabbing all the songs all at once,listening to all and never having my fill. "She loves you" is a classic along with "I saw her standing there". I cannot imagine how very prolific they were and with different ways of making music being used.

Wow! First song? That's going back some! I think it was either 'She Loves Me' or 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'. It was back on the Ed Sullivan show... no, wait. My sister made me listen to these "new guys" on the radio just before they came to the States. I was only 12 at the time, so I wasn't all that enthused. It didn't take long before I was hooked on them. I got Beatlemania bad! LOL Yes, their songs were revolutionary, to say the least. They brought in a new era of music. It didn't take me long before I was comparing all other "new" bands to The Beatles. Of course, the new ones never stood a chance! Good post. Beatles forever!

i'm pretty young for a beatles fan, but the first song that i remember hearing is hard days night. i was only like 11, and it was many years after they broke up, but it was still magical. the catchy chorus, the upbeat message, i was hooked instantly!
