Many parents now a days can not monitor with their kids TV viewing because they are very busy with work and no time to sit down with their kids when they arrived home. Some parents set schedules but who knows if the kids follow that schedule? Parents are not home all the time. How about you? do you have TV viewing schedule for your kids of just let them watch anytime they want as long as the home work is done?

I always swore I would never be a parent to let my kids watch television. Well, life got in the way of that. My husband is gone for seven months and it's just me here taking care of our daughter. Some mornings I cannot make breakfast because she is in there crying, whining, climbing on me, pushing between me and the cabinets. It is ridiculous how hard it is to cook sometimes. To get our meals made and keep my sanity sometimes I do have to stick her in fron of the television. I'll just leave her there to watch Sesame Street or something else educational like that. And not longer than 30 minutes. I don't think this is too bad. I wish I could completely so no but sometimes having my sanity is worth giving up little battles.

Well, if the kid is just at home,. not schooling yet, it is good for them to watch educational programs. There are some parents who made the TV as their baby sitter becuase they can let their kids sit there and watch the program while mother is doing the house work. That is good if the show is educational. Mothers just need to monitor what their kids are watching.

My baby is only two years old and all she does is play and watch TV. I think, in due time, I will teach her self-discipline and make her understand how important it is to prioritize studying over watching TV. I totally agree with coming up with a schedule, like allowing her to watch only on weekends, or only up to a certain time, etc. I know of some who make a great sacrifice of not having TV at home at all. That would be really difficult although it really makes sense too. But it's something I know I will not be able to do, i think.

Well, it is just depend upon how parents impose dicipline about TC viewing. I don;t have TV viewing during school days. They can watch TV on week ends.
