I have A.D.D. and my childhood years and now as a adult I have always had problems with focus, Memory, and calmness. I get frusterated so easially and lose track of what people are saying to me or staying on task. I hate that I can't stay organized and my small effiency that I live in is so hard to keep clean because I can't stay on task. I hate that I am using medicine hoping it will help me. I hate that I get fired from jobs because of my slow learning thats apart of my A.D.D. I can't seem to explain to employers that I am a slow learner and please don't fire me if I don't get the tasks done quickly or learn them quickly. I am now a live at home mom because 1. I can't keep a job. 2. my son has low immune system so he can't go in daycare without ending up in the hospital. I would love some advice from others that have A.D.D. or know someone with it and how they deal with it successuflly without drugs.

I have no suggestions for you on ADD as I have never had any dealings with this matter. However,I read your discussion and noticed alot of simialarites between what you describe and what I live thru on a daily bases and wonder maybe I should get checked? My g/f has a low immunity as well and I know how hard it is to work within their limitations.Good luck and please keep us updated.

I didn't know I had A.D.D. when I was a child but life sure was frasterating and had the systems just didn't get tested for this disorder until last year. The stupid medicine I'm on right now gave me majoy insomia yesterday I didn't go to sleep until 5:30am today. Thats one of the many side effects that the medicine can give you. theres others that are worse. I got 2 hours of sleep today and I ain't taking that medicine today hoping to get more sleep tonight. youtube has some add videos here's my favorite.www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkjZcRK my other one is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5urmUKSdo8M&feature=related I hope these hope you understand what ADD is.

Thak you for the link .My dr. has had me on sleeping meds for more than a few years now as I was having major problems with lack of sleep and if I forget one night to take them,I will remember them at 2 or 3 in the morning as I will still be wide awake. With the latest happenings in my life,I will be seeking some professional health to see what is my problem and how it can be managed/controlled so I can lead a "normal" life again.

Thanks for the tip. What about when your supposed to pay attention to a lecture or speech? how do you focus your attention on that and not getting distracted by other thoughts you have.
