any advice for eyes' health?

Friends, as some of you have probably noticed my avatar, I am wearing glasses and actually ... I'm a bit 'paranoid' with my eyes' health. I'm working as programmer and I always spend more than 10 hours in front of computer because of the project's needs. And I'm worried that it would affect my eyes so it will be better to 'prevent' than to 'cure' it when it is too late. Anyone can suggest me any tips for eyes' health? Probably suggesting me any eyes treatment, or supplement, or anything that have ever come to your minds? Many thanks in advance for your advice and suggestion! Happy myLotting, Friends!

I am alos in IT and I also wear glasses and I also spend 10 hours a day in front of computer. Don't mind, pls , my answer would be little funny. The only way to keep yours else healthy is just keep watching good looking and beauiful girls. This is the way you will get enough vitamins for your eyes. Also, u can do it on internet for 10 hours a day that would help you remove your glasses a bit early.

Seriously eat more carrots and walk bare foot on grass , this could help you. If you just want to remove your glasses, then go for lenses or laser opertion.

Vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene (pro-vitamin A and Carotenoids like Leutein and zeaxanthin are strong antioxidants for eye health and protect your eyes against free-radical damage. A good website for eye health is http://www.agingeye.net/visionbasics/nutritionandvision.php. There is not much you need to do if your eyes are healthy and you are young except to try to avoid eye strain. Interactions with other medications is a consideration as well. Your best bet is to see an optometrist or opthalmologist and ask these questions. They are the experts in these fields. Good luck!

I was going to comment in this thread but you took the words right out of my mouth. :P My parents own a health food store so I'm a strong supporter of taking vitamins and minerals. I prefer to get them from my food but sometimes there isn't much in food these days.

Hello.....hmmmmmn, well I guess it would be better if you would rest your eyes from time to time...And you can also have warm compress for 5 mins then cold compress for 5 mins also before going to bed at night because that could help in the circulation and prevents inflammation...=)

Well I think you will be ok if you keep getting your eyes checked maybe every year or when you get new glasses, make sure you always get the glasses to help your eyes as you rely on your eyes a lot...it has always been said eating carrots is good maybe....

Hello dear bkps. I think that we had better spend less time at the computer because it ruins our eyes. These two days I have been sitting a lot at my computer and now my eyes are feeling very uncomfortable and painful from overusing my eyes before the computer screen. I think that it is better to stay away from the computer for some time for the good of the eyes. Take care of your eyes, dear friend.

If you are spending a long time in front of the computer, the best thing is to take frequent breaks, maybe every hour take a 15 minute break. It will make your work more efficiently too most likely. Also keep going to your opticians to make sure your glasses are the best one for you and that your eye health is not getting any worse.
