Does anyone still actively collect sports cards for the love of the hobby?

I am a collector of Baseball cards but find it harder and harder to find some for sale to complete sets that I have started. Too many dealers are only dealing in the newer insert stuff that is at the high end of the spectrum and not worth it. Are there any of you out there that still collect for the enjoyment and not for the $$ attached to a card?

I used to collect a lot of cards and sets, byt then there got to be so many companies and "special" cards that the hobby went into the toilet for me. Now I just collect cards of players that I like, especially those of my team (Pirates) and my wifes team (Angels). It just isn't as much fun as it used to be.

I am the same. I collect Hall of Fame players, stars that I think have a chance to get to the Hall of Fame, and trying to put the O Pee Chee sets together (they are fewer in cards but rarer than Topps.

I use to collect cards when I was younger. Had binders full of cards and huge plastic tubs full of cards, until my sister's cat got in to my room and used the plastic tubs as a litter box. Had to throw all the cards out. Lost the binders years ago in between moves. Just now started collecting again. I just collect cards of my fav teams. Could care less about the money, unless I come across a rare card then that might be a little different .

Well I have never collected baseball cards. I used to collect Key Chains of all things. Every year for Christmas and my birthday some one would get me a few key chains. I still have most of them, but you cant really make mosey on this sort of collection.
